Famed Psychic Entertainer Uri Geller Relists Longtime UK Estate at New Lower Price

Nestled amid scenic Sonning-on-Thames village, in Berkshire, England, this home first popped up for sale about eight years ago. And though the stately Palladian-style property has a celebrity pedigree — it’s long been owned by self-proclaimed psychic and illusionist Uri Geller, best known as the originator of spoon bending — the place languished on the market and has yet to transfer. Initially priced at a decidedly optimistic £15 million, it’s now popped up for sale again, this time at a substantially reduced £7.95 million ($9.5 million).

Whoever buys the property — known as “Sonning Court” — will lay claim to their very own secluded getaway, according to Geller. “Most people driving through the village have no idea this house is here,” he says. “The fact that you have to drive through two gates to enter, and being really set back, makes you feel like you are entering into your own world when you arrive home.”

Tucked away on nearly 4 acres of elevated land in a bend of the River Thames — where nearby neighbors include George and Amal Clooney, and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page — the 1970s premises were extensively renovated and expanded during the entertainer’s decades-long tenure, complete with a more balanced and symmetrical exterior, and feng shui-inspired interiors so “positive energy can flow throughout the house at ease and impact those who are living there,” says Geller.

Distinguished by its White House-inspired facade, and fronted by a massive motorcourt and columned portico entryway, the striking white structure features nine bedrooms and seven baths sprawled across almost 16,000 square feet of living space offering up water views from every room. Notable amenities include picturesque grounds spotlighted by Japanese water gardens boasting a waterfall and an eye-catching red bridge, as well as a heated and covered swimming pool, Jacuzzi, tennis court, glass meditation pyramid and helipad. There’s also a four-car garage, plus 1,500 square meters of mooring for up to 18 boats.

Especially standing out on the ground level of the four-story dwelling is a reception hall, dual drawing rooms opening to a large glass atrium, a “panorama room” with river views, formal and casual dining rooms, a study, two powder rooms and a kitchen that connects to maid’s quarters with a separate entrance. Elsewhere in the house is a lower-level entertainment hall sporting a wet bar, movie theater and gym, along with two first-floor master retreats, and a cellar holding a wine vault/panic room and safe.
