Allianz UK has appointed a new managing director for LV= Broker ahead of the upcoming rebrand of the personal lines broker business.

Taking over from Mike Crane with immediate effect is Nicola George (pictured), who joined LV= Broker in 2022 as portfolio pricing director. Her credentials include 11 years spent at Aviva General Insurance.

“Nicola is an established leader who brings invaluable experience and insights into this key role,” Allianz Personal managing director Serge Raffard said.

“She understands the dynamics of the personal lines broker market thoroughly, and we’re excited to see how she will grow and develop our presence.”

Rebrand to Allianz

LV= Broker, as previously announced, will start to trade using the Allianz brand on May 1. The identity shift will coincide with Crane’s departure.

“I want to personally thank Mike for his fantastic leadership, along with all the support and guidance he has given me since I started in this role,” Raffard commented.

“The broker business is an important part of personal lines, with 1,200 brokers servicing 1.4 million policyholders, with around 750K of these with an LV= Broker brand branded policy.

“We are rebranding the LV= Broker business to Allianz in May, and so with this exciting new chapter ahead, now feels a natural point for Mike to hand over the reins. We wish him all the best.”

Crane, who joined LV= General Insurance in 2008, led the successful transfer of LV=’s commercial business to Allianz and the Allianz personal business to LV=, as well as the integration of the general insurance business of Legal & General into LV=, following the completion of the Allianz acquisitions in 2020.
