MoneySuperMarket has formed a partnership with Auto Trader, hailed as the UK’s largest automotive marketplace.

Under the new partnership, individuals browsing for cars, vans, or bikes on Auto Trader can now compare insurance quotes directly on the platform using information on their MoneySuperMarket accounts.

“The cost of insurance is a key factor when you’re choosing a car, so we’re delighted to be Auto Trader’s new price comparison partner, helping more drivers find the right insurance at the best price,” said Sara Newell, director of insurance at MoneySuperMarket.

In her statement, Newell also emphasised the ease offered by the integration, noting that it allows drivers to “see all the information they need and the most competitive insurance prices in just a few clicks.”

Ed Hummel, business development director at Auto Trader, echoed Newell’s comments and said the decision to partner with MoneySuperMarket was a “straightforward” choice.

“The new partnership will enable us to offer a fully integrated and branded insurance journey, with increased data sharing allowing us to better understand car buyers’ insurance needs,” he said. Providing buyers with an easy way to find the best value vehicle insurance builds on our strategy of allowing them to complete more of the car buying, financing and insuring journey online.”

Parent company changes corporate holding name

MoneySuperMarket is part of Moneysupermarket.com Group plc, which provides price comparison services through its own consumer-facing brands, as well as for third-party businesses.

In addition to the partnership with Auto Trader, the group has announced that it will be changing its corporate holding name to MONY Group plc, effective May 20.

An emailed release said the change will not impact consumer-facing brands and is meant to reflect how the Moneysupermarket.com business has expanded “beyond the original price comparison website.”

“Being named after just one of our consumer brands no longer represents the extent of the business today,” the release stated further.
