Every year without fail, the Met Gala red carpet is the scene of memorable celebrity fashion moments. The 2024 edition in New York tonight, which celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibition, was no exception. The best-dressed guests interpreted the theme (and the “Garden of Time” dress code) in ways that were thoughtful and unexpected.

Naturally, the 2024 Met Gala co-hosts made the best-dressed list. Fashion darling Zendaya turned heads in her Maison Margiela look (complete with a Bulgari necklace worth $40 million), while Jennifer Lopez opted for sheer Schiaparelli couture, Bad Bunny also wore Margiela, and Chris Hemsworth chose sleek Tom Ford.
